Los Chaneques (del Náhuatl, “los que habitan lugares peligrosos” o “dueños de la casa”) son criaturas de la mitología mexica, entidades asociadas al inframundo. Habitan los bosques y las selvas, cuidan de los manantiales, los arboles y los animales. Son espíritus traviesos, de corta estatura, con los pies al revés, con aspecto de niño pero cara de anciano. Se aparecen al intruso, distrayéndolo, para hacerle perder camino, secuestrarlo o desaparecerlo.

En las noches se reúnen alrededor de una gran fogata, donde los armadillos se postran como sillas.

Una vez sentados, celebran los sustos y secuestros, esperando las ofrendas para dejar libres las almas atrapadas.

Esta es la razón de ponerle “Sillas Armadillo” a nuestra primera producción discográfica. Es una ofrenda de los Chaneqes (sin U) a los Chaneques que son “los guardianes de la naturaleza”

The Chaneques (from Náhuatl, "those who inhabit dangerous places" or "owners of the house") are creatures of Mexica mythology, entities associated with the underworld. They inhabit forests and jungles, they take care of springs, trees and animals. They are mischievous spirits, short, with their feet upside down, looking like a child but the face of an old man. They appear to the intruder, distracting him, to make him lose his way, kidnap him or disappear him.

In the evenings they gather around a large bonfire, where the armadillos prostrate like chairs.

Once seated, they celebrate the scares and kidnappings, waiting for the offerings to free the trapped souls.

This is the reason for putting “Sillas Armadillo” on our first record production. It is an offering of the Chaneqes (without U) to the Chaneques who are "the guardians of nature"
